Ezekiel, son of Sergeant John (3) Davis, was born at Shirley, April 2, 1770. He was eighteen years old when the family of his father came to Reading, and he made himself useful in clearing the forest and cultivating the farm. At the age of twenty-one he married, June 17, 1791, Bethia Grandy, born December 29, 1770, died March 9, 1850. He was a farmer at Reading also carried on a teaming route on the road between Boston and Reading, all his active life, and his children were all born there. He died September 11, 1849, in Reading.
